The AT&T Unlimited Plan is eSIM only. Since most people now have an eSIM compatible iPhone it makes sense to use eSIM rather than a traditional plastic SIM Card.

If you are flying direct to Canada or Mexico, the AT&T Unlimited Plan will not work and there’s no way around this. In that case, choose the T-Mobile Unlimited Plan. If you are only transiting through the USA en-route to Canada or Mexico just make a call or send a text at the airport to activate roaming for Canada and Mexico.
