An eSIM is a SIM Card embedded inside your iPad which can be activated with our T-Mobile data plan. It means you don’t have to buy a physical SIM Card to insert into your iPad. The eSIM is activated directly with the network and is downloaded to your iPad.
You get exactly the same thing with eSIM as you do with a physical SIM Card.
The iPads that support eSIM are listed above, and you can also check if your iPad uses eSIM by doing the following:
Go to Settings/General/About. Then scroll down and see if there is a section called “EID” with a long number next to it starting with 8 (not to be confused with “SEID”).
If you see “EID” then it means your iPad uses eSIM. The “EID” is the eSIM’s serial number.
